Common questions

When does a three-tier network need to become spine-leaf?

When east-west traffic dominates: virtualization, container platforms, storage replication, AI/ML pipelines. Symptoms are familiar — inter-rack latency varying by path, spanning-tree blocking half your uplinks, VLAN sprawl. If your traffic is still overwhelmingly north-south, a well-run three-tier design may be fine; we’ll tell you honestly which side you’re on.

Can you migrate a live data centre without downtime?

Yes — that’s most of our fabric work. The new fabric is built alongside the old network, interconnected at controlled points, and workloads move in planned waves with rollback at each step. Our largest deployments have run inside strict government SLA terms, where downtime windows are contractual, not aspirational.

Cisco, Juniper or Arista for the fabric?

All three build excellent spine-leaf platforms. The decision usually turns on your operations tooling and skills, automation approach (EOS/CloudVision vs Junos/Apstra vs NX-OS/Nexus Dashboard), existing estate and commercial terms. We’re partners of all three — the assessment produces a recommendation you can defend, not a favorite.
