Backup, DR & Business Continuity

RPO/RTO-driven architectures with geo-redundancy, immutable copies and rehearsed recovery — because backups that were never tested are hopes, not plans.

OVERVIEW

What we deliver

Two numbers define this discipline: RPO — how much data you can afford to lose — and RTO — how long you can afford to be down. Everything else is engineering to hit those numbers at a cost the business accepts. Most organizations discover their real RPO and RTO during their first serious incident; the point of DR design is to decide them in a meeting instead.

Enrich designs and operates backup and DR estates across on-premises, cloud and hybrid environments: tiered backup with the 3-2-1-1 discipline (the last 1 being immutable or air-gapped — the copy ransomware can’t encrypt), geo-redundant replication aligned to Indian regulatory expectations, and DR runbooks that get rehearsed, not archived.

Ransomware changed this field: attackers now hunt backups first. Modern DR assumes that, and builds copies that can’t be reached, altered or deleted — then proves recovery works by actually doing it.

CAPABILITIES

What's included

RPO/RTO Architecture

Tiered protection per application criticality — paying for minutes where minutes matter, hours where they don’t.

Immutable & Air-Gapped Copies

Object-lock and offline tiers that survive administrator-credential compromise — the ransomware-proof layer.

Geo-Redundant DR

Cross-site and cross-region replication with failover architectures matched to residency and regulatory needs.

Ransomware Recovery Design

Clean-room recovery paths, malware-scanned restore points and forensics preservation — recovery without reinfection.

DR Runbooks & Drills

Documented, role-assigned recovery procedures — validated by scheduled failover exercises with measured results.

Backup Operations

Monitoring, restore testing and capacity management as a managed service — success rates reported, not assumed.

HOW WE DELIVER

From assessment to operations

01

Assess

Application criticality workshop → agreed RPO/RTO tiers, plus an honest audit of what current backups would actually restore.

02

Design

Protection architecture, replication topology and immutability layer — with the cost curve per tier made explicit.

03

Deploy

Implementation with initial full-restore validation — the first drill happens before handover, not after an incident.

04

Rehearse

Scheduled DR drills with timed results against RTO targets, and runbook updates while lessons are fresh.

FAQ

Common questions

We take daily backups — aren’t we covered?

+

Three questions decide that: Can the backups be encrypted by the same ransomware that hits production (are any copies immutable)? When did you last restore something large and time it? Does daily backup mean your business accepts losing up to 24 hours of data? For most organizations at least one answer is uncomfortable — that gap is what DR design closes.

What do RPO and RTO actually cost?

+

The curve is exponential at the edges: hours of RPO/RTO are cheap; near-zero needs synchronous replication and hot standby infrastructure. The discipline is tiering — your payment system might justify minutes; the intranet does not. We put explicit prices on each tier so the business chooses with open eyes.

How does immutable backup stop ransomware?

+

Modern attackers gain admin credentials, then delete or encrypt backups before triggering. Immutability (object-lock, WORM, true air-gap) makes stored copies unchangeable for a set retention window — even by administrators. Combined with clean-room restore paths and scanned recovery points, it converts “pay the ransom” into “restore and rebuild.”

How often should DR be tested?

+

Tabletop quarterly, technical failover at least annually per critical tier — and after any major architecture change. Untested DR fails in embarrassing ways: expired credentials, changed IPs, a dependency nobody documented. Regulated entities also need the drill evidence for RBI/SEBI-style resilience audits; we run and document the exercises.
